After the Bon dances at the individual communities of the Hiramoto District are over, Hiramoto Ōdaiko (Hiramoto Big Drums) is performed on August 16. It is performed by the youth of the Hiramoto District. The origin is not clearly known, but it is said to come from Ashinazawa in the Towada-Ōyu area. It is performed to calm the spirits of the ancestors and pray for bumper crops.
