Tsukidate Kagura is offered at the annual festival of Yasaka Hachiman Shrine. On the day before the festival, a lion for exorcism (kado-jishi) visits all the houses, and on the day of the festival the main lion (hon-jishi) dances the kagura for the gods. This kagura is characterized by the long body of its lion, where one person holds the lion head and five or six people come under the body and dance together.
