The Bon dance of Ōsawa started in the late Edo era (1600–1868). It was started to appease the spirits of the ancestors and pray for good harvests. The dance is said to have been brought from Kemanai (Kazuno City), and there are some similarities in the hand gestures and corporal movements. The traditional Jinku Dance and Nattobushi are danced only with big drums and songs.
