Maegō is where Takizawa Castle stood in the 17th century and was the center of former Yuri Town. The kagura of Maegō belongs to the school of Ise Dai-Kagura. What is interesting concerning Maegō Kagura is that it includes Okame Dance, which replicates the dance of Amenouzume in the myth of Amaterasu’s seclusion in a cave, which attracted Amaterasu (the Sun God) out of the cave and saved the world.
