The yakko dance (samurai servants’ dance) is practiced at Hataya. This yakko dance is said to have been brought here originally from Dōji (Noshiro City), but later the yakko dance of Mizusawa (in the former Minehama Village), which came from Hihata (Noshiro City), was brought here and has been practiced since then. After a prayer at Chōsenji Temple, the performers dance at the cemetery and other places in the community.
