The Funauchiba Lion Dance has four lion dances in the strict sense and one bangaku dance: namely the Kado-jishi (Entrance-Visit Lion Dance), Kami-mai (Divine Dance), Nayori, and Yagisawa-jishi as lion dances and Mochitsuki-mai (Rice-Cake-Making Dance) as the bangaku dance. The lion head was discovered in 1726. Two more lion heads were produced respectively in 1907 and 1915. These three lion heads appear together on the 2nd Saturday of September.
